Steve Richardson was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Bethesda MD. where he attended Walter Johnson High School. He attended the University of Maryland and graduated with a BA in Studio Art.
Steve first became interested in photography when he was given a Kodak camera as a child.
Steve has worked as a photographer for art galleries, amateur theater groups, engineering firms, landscape architectural firms, remodeling companies, real estate firms and a local rock and roll band.
From 1981 to 1992 he worked as a carpenter and painter for a Potomac MD. based remodeling company and with his own company
In 1992 Steve went to work at The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. as the Operations Supervisor for the Gallery Shops.
Steve retired in 2014 and has been spending his retirement traveling around the country and making photographs.
