Pat Morrison was born in Washington DC and currently lives in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. She received her BFA in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has also studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and Montgomery College of Maryland.
For 20 years, Morrison worked as a freelance editorial illustrator for a variety of magazines, newspapers and associations. Later she taught art for District of Columbia Public Schools at the Fillmore Arts Center, and recently retired from teaching art for Charles County Public Schools.
Morrison’s work is highly influenced by nature. Her recent work focuses on linocuts combined with underpaintings. She is a member of CalvART Gallery in Prince Frederick, Md. Past shows include the Waldorf West Library Gallery, Twin Beaches Library, North End Gallery Invitational, and Calvert Nature Society Nature’s ARTcade Exhibit. Her work is also found at Dockside Restaurant in Deale, Md. She teaches printmaking workshops at various locations in Calvert County.
