Jo Ann Gilhooly

After a career working for the Navy as a computer specialist, Jo Ann has gotten back into one of her passions: Art. Since retiring several years ago, she has be actively pursuing this interest in art by drawing, painting, and photographing, taking college and other art classes, and actively participating in several art organizations in Maryland.

Besides art, Jo Ann’s other passions include canine search and rescue (in which she is still active), horses, the beauty of nature, and the beauty of rural living, all of which are reflected in her art. She now is working in oil and water based paints, pastels, charcoal, and photography.

Jo Ann’s art is on display at several local galleries, including CalvArt Gallery in Prince Fredrick and Mattawoman Creek Art Center in Marbury and occasionally at Calvert County Library in Prince Fredrick, Circle Gallery (Maryland Federation of Art) in Annapolis, College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, Community Bank in La Plata, Flag Ponds Park in Calvert County (Nature Artcade Show), and the Waldorf West Branch Library (Charles County Art Alliance).
