Photography Workshop at CalvART Gallery
The purpose of this workshop is to help everyone to become a better photographer no matter what kind of device you are using to take pictures. From cell phone to DSLR you will learn the secrets of light, composition and post production. Bring your camera as you will be taking pictures in session #1, 2 and 3.
Session #1: Saturday, April 2nd, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Learn the basics of how the camera works through aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Discover light by taking photos of a provided still life under various lighting conditions.
Session #2: Saturday, April 9th, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Learn how perspective and artificial light can change the message. After a short lecture you will be photographing a live model under various lighting conditions.
Session #3: Saturday, April 16th, 10:00 to noon. At Solomon’s Island you will report to your instructor who will give you an assignment sheet. You will take 10 pictures for 5 different assignments, and e-mail the best 3 of each assignment, to the instructor, for review in session #4.
Session #4: Saturday,April 23rd., 6:00 to 8:00 pm. On a 27″ I-mac using Adobe Lightroom, learn the basics of post production, how to crop, color, reduce shadows, straighten–and basically make your picture into one you will be proud to print and hang.
Cost for each session is $25.00. Take all 4 sessions and enjoy a10% discount–Pay only $90.00.
If we have a large group, Session #4 will take some time. We can split the class into 2 review sessions if necessary. There will not be any additional cost for this additional post production session. Additionally, I sit the gallery one day each month, from 11:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. at which time I will be available for student questions.
